OSG introduces the revolutionary AT-1^® One Turn Thread Mills — a game-changing departure from conventional two-step threading. AT-1 Mills make the perfect cut in a single pass. This reduces cutting processing time in half and enables high-efficiency machining and greater throughput for your metalworking projects.

Traditional thread mills feature a right-handed cut and a right-handed helix geometry. These mills are prone to bend under stress, creating an imperfect or uneven cut.

Introducing the OSG AT-1

The AT-1 Thread Mills have the same right-handed cut with a left-handed helix. This permits a minute pitch diameter difference between the hole entry and the bottom of the hole, allowing a delay in gauge-out failure. No zero cutting is needed to correct for bending, extending the life of the tool. The result is smoother, more precise threading with virtually no blemishes or irregularities.

The beauty of the AT-1 is in its breakthrough design. Unequal spacing and variable lead fluting reduces vibration and chatter. The righty/lefty cut/helix combination increases tool stability. An EgiAs™ coating provides exceptional wear resistance, as does the ultra-fine grain carbide tool body, which also adds toughness.

AT-1 thread mills deliver superior productivity, reliability and tool life. They are ideally suited for threading carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals. However, they are not recommended for die steels, nickel alloy, titanium or hardened steels greater than 45HRC.

Four AT-1 series are offered: metric, inch, NPT and NPTF.
