Reduce Chatter with new Carmex Mini Spiral Mill-Thread

What’s new in milling? Once only available in metric sizes, the popular Mini Spiral Mill-Thread line by Carmex Precision Tools is now available in inch sizes and is said to reduce chatter. BlackHawk sells more than 2,000 Carmex tools and is able to special order additional products.

Known for smooth cutting operations at high feed rates that reduce machining time, the Carmex Precision Tools Mini Spiral Mill-Thread line is now sold in inch sizes, as well as metric. The spiral fluted toolholders, with internal coolant bore, hold from one to three inserts and are available in comparably small cutting diameters. The spiral design reduces vibrations and chatter, resulting in a high-quality surface finish.

According to Jim White, national sales manager for Carmex USA:

“The popularity of the Mini Spiral Mill-Thread line in metric dimensions has created a demand for offering the line in inch sizes. The variety of sizes and the availability of MT7 submicron grade with TiAIN multilayer coating offer customers a range of choices and the assurance of longer tool life. The extension of the product line is evidence of Carmex’s continuing commitment to providing an indexable option in smaller diameter tools.”

The Carmex Mini Mill-Thread family is comprised of small solid-carbide thread mills. The tools in the family have been specially designed for the production of threads in very small bores. In order to achieve this, we’ve employed unique tool designs, accurate geometries, and quality coatings.
