The Best Gloves for Cold Weather Work
What kind of glove gives you the perfect fit for cold conditions? The answer depends on your environment and the task at hand. We break it down with an assist from MCR Safety.
When choosing hand protection for winter conditions, there is cold…. and then there is COLD. Are you working in chilly conditions above freezing temperatures? Outdoors in damp conditions or in severe weather? Or in a cold room or in arctic-like areas with the thermometer well below zero?
The needs of the worker matter just as much as the environment. A shipyard welder has different dexterity requirements from a lineman, truck driver or construction worker. You don’t want gloves that leave your hands too cold or too hot — or wet. The choice of glove is essentially a function of temperature, comfort and application.
Here is a sampling of popular cold weather MCR Safety gloves in a variety of styles and lining materials.
